Warm Hearts, Warm Homes

Warm Heart

Showing our Community We Care about their Safety

The Warm Hearts, Warm Homes program is a locally funded project that delivers a free space heater to low income seniors or elderly Veterans who have no safe source of heat in their homes.

Since the winter of 2009, the Warm Hearts program has been able to support over 100 homes each year because of generous donations from caring citizens investing in the needs of their fellow San Antonio residents in Bexar County and the surrounding 12-counties of the Alamo Region.

Every $40 donation will buy a safe, affordable heater and help to fulfill our goal to support those in need with such a simple life-saving device. Since all program costs must come from locally-raised funds, we are asking you to help support those less fortunate in our community and make a difference in the number of unnecessary home fires and deaths caused by using open flames to survive.

Please donate online or mail donations to:

Attn: Alamo Service Connection

You can also send checks made payable to "AADC - ASC "Warm Hearts".
Donations are tax deductible and acknowledgment letters will be provided.

Due to funding restrictions, the program is limited to low-income seniors or Veterans residing in the 13-Alamo counties. To qualify, persons must be over 60 years of age, within certain income guidelines. The recipient must also have no safe means of heating their home or the existing heating source is not working. A stove or oven is not considered a safe and adequate source of heating a home and regularly leads to numerous deaths in our own community.

For more information, call the Alamo Service Connection at (210) 477-3275 (or toll free at 866-231-4922) or email for details.

The Alamo Service Connection (ASC), part of the Bexar Area Agency on Aging/AACOG, is the community clearing house for assistance, information, and referrals for low-income seniors, persons with disabilities, and our elderly Veterans in and around the Alamo Region.
